Iyaaa, I’m Beth. I’m a Chartered Accountant, but my personal finance journey has been far from perfect. In fact, I started out in my adult life with absolutely no idea how to manage my own money and without the right guidance, I ended up with over £20,000 in credit card debt. I managed to pay off that debt in just 18 months - and I’m now completely debt-free and recently bought my first home. I started my Instagram account in 2021 to share this journey and have continued over the years sharing simple, practical tips I’ve picked up on how to save money, ditch debt, and improve financial well-being.
I’m Francesca, I’m passionate about helping women with their finances after finding myself in a bad situation with my own finances. I had to do a whole life overhaul, which meant a big focus on budgeting, earning extra money and paying off my debt. It wasn’t easy, as I had a young child at the time, and became a single mum too. But with a bunch of hard work and a positive mindset I did it! And ever since, I’ve shared my tips along the way - with the goal in mind to help any woman who felt as alone as I had back then.
I have since taken a Financial Adviser diploma (DipFA) to further my knowledge.
Hey guys I’m Gemma, I love all things side hustles and freebies! I used to manage my little crafts business page on instagram- Gembobs crafts, but found just selling products was draining me so I decided to follow my other passion and that’s earning money in unique ways!
I spent a lot of years in hospitals up until I was 30 so I couldn’t work a normal job, it meant I built up a wide range of things that I could do to earn either online or through little side hustles. I started my insta in 2021 I think, showing others it can be done and I absolutely love it! I can now add content creation to my long list of jobs 🤣
I love solo travelling and being positive as this definitely helps in your whole outlook.
Hi, I’m Katie. I started my blog and Instagram ‘Katie Saves’ back in 2018 when I went on maternity leave with my first child. As an Accountant, I already had an affinity for numbers and coming from a low-income background, I was already well-versed in saving money and frugality. Creating money content was a natural fit and soon my platform grew to a community of over 50,000 and replaced my income when I was made redundant from my day job in 2020. My passion is helping people (particularly those on lower incomes) find money contentment and I recently completed a Financial Coaching Practitioner Certificate so that I can help people on a more individual level too.
I’m Laura, and Thrifty Londoner began in 2018 as a website and Instagram page to share the ways in which I was making a low salary work in London. Fast forward to today, and Thrifty Londoner is now a place for all things personal finance- I’m particularly passionate about business (I have two of my own), investing, and making your money work for you. I’ve been featured in the Financial Times, Stylist magazine, BBC, and Metro, and love to get conversations flowing when it comes to the topic of money.
Hello! I’m Matilda, I began A Millennial Saver on Instagram back in 2022. For years I felt there was a gap in my understanding of finances, from navigating the post-university haze to embracing adulthood head-on. I wanted to really understand my money and how it could work for me - but when learning about personal finances it felt so jargon heavy! I want to create a community and safe space where women in particular, feel comfortable to ask questions but also a place where I can help share key finance subjects that we often skim over and break them down in an easy, digestible way. Since then, I’ve been in esteemed publications like The Times, Sun, Metro, and Stylist, and most importantly, connecting with so many amazing people and supporting them in their own financial journeys. Personally, I’ve grown my wealth through various means and have been investing for a number of years (something that initially I would look at and have no idea where to even start!).
Hi, I’m Ambrina and four years ago I managed to pay off £21k worth of debt in 8 months. I started my Instagram page to share tips on budgeting and paying off debt. I wanted to create something that would have helped me on my debt repayment journey and something that would make people feel less alone with their finances. My page quickly grew and I now have a wonderful, supportive community of over 70,000 people! I’ve since been featured in numerous National newspapers and magazines, have been on BBC news and radio, and have even been to Downing Street to interview the chancellor! I absolutely love spending my days offering help and advice to people struggling with their finances.
Hi! I'm Taryn. I've suffered with crohn's disease since I was 3 years old, and had a serious flare up in my mid 20's, resulting in two years out of work unwell collecting sickness benefits and waiting for surgery to improve my quality of life. During this period I had a lot of time on my hands (and not a lot of money!), so it was the perfect time to dive into personal finance, learn about investing and look into online side hustle opportunities. Experiencing these health problems completely transformed my outlook on life, and I knew that financial security was a priority in case I was ever to fall unwell again in the future. Thankfully I'm feeling good and have returned to work for the NHS - I'm soon approaching my 8 year NHS anniversary! Last year I funded an adventure to Japan, and am currently house hunting to buy my first property. I'm slightly "behind" my friends due to my health issues and the effect they have had on my finances, but I have learned that life is not a race; we're all on different paths.
